Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. In excellent condition. 2011, large softcover in thick wraps, 11" by 9". Trilingual text in English, Dutch, and French. Superb book published for an exhibition on the masterful 19th-century Romanian painter, who studied and worked for years in France, influenced by the Barbizon school and trends in French Impressionism. Finely printed and designed, with dozens of color plates -atmospheric paintings of pastoral scenes with mosaic patterns and superb execution, with some canvases foreshadowing the work of Sorolla. Long overdue publication on this overlooked artist - most highly recommended. Out of print and scarce.
