First edition of the author's magnum opus. Thick octavo, original half cloth. Signed promotional of Infinite Jest laid in. Fine in a fine first state dust jacket with Vollmann misspelled on the back panel. Jacket design by Steve Snider. In 2004, Chad Harbach declared that, in retrospect, Infinite Jest "now looks like the central American novel of the past thirty years, a dense star for lesser work to orbit." In a 2008 retrospective by The New York Times, Infinite Jest was described as "a masterpiece that's also a monster nearly 1,100 pages of mind-blowing inventiveness and disarming sweetness. Its size and complexity make it forbidding and esoteric." Time Magazine included the novel in its list of the 100 best English-language novels published since 1923.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Author(s): David Foster Wallace Title: Infinite Jest Publication: Boston: Little Brown & Co., 1996 Edition: Special Signed Limited Bound Galley Description: Publisher's original wrappers. Special bound galley, which has been signed by the author. This copy is rather special in a few ways, the first is that the publication sticker traditionally found on the front panel is not present. Secondly, the galley includes the author showcase pamphlet that has become incredibly scarce, in some instances selling for hundreds of dollars on its own. And thirdly, the signature is in pen. It is almost always in black sharpie. Nothing too remarkable in the last instance however it just seems noteworthy. Foster Wallace's second novel, a postmodern classic has been included in Time s 100 best English-language novels from 1923-2005. It is quite an important piece of postmodern literature and remains an oft studied and well regarded novel. VG or better with bumped corners and trace soiling. Nice spine which is straight and unbowed. A very nice copy of this rather scarce piece. Signed by Author(s).
