Doch die 'Drei Romanzen' op. 94 für Oboe kamen seinerzeit auch jeweils mit einer Solostimme für Violine und Klarinette auf den Markt. Violinisten sind sicher erfreut darüber, dass der G. Henle Verlag der Idee der Alternativbesetzung folgt. Das Manuskript, das Robert seiner Frau Clara 1849 als Weihnachtsgeschenk überreichte, ist nicht erhalten.
