Copy 132 of 300 copies, signed by Matthews and May at the Colophon. Additionally inscribed on the title page by Matthews to poet William Heyen and his wife. Matthews was Heyen's teacher at Ohio University. A wonderful association copy between these two writers and friends. Inscribed by Author(s).

The Grandon Manufacturing Company die cut the pop-up. The Campbell Logan Bindery bound the book using linen cloth and Logan Elm handmade paper. 13 1/4 inches x 10 1/4 in., half-title; title-page with a design; unpaginated; [30]pp., including the numbered and signed colophon. Over 20, various-sized illustrations by Eric May, printed in black or gray. Between pp. [11-12] is the design-printed pop-up of "The Sphinx" seated on a sofa, with smaller illustrations in the background. Dark gray cloth spine and sides, and corner-pieces, with a printed gray paper title label mounted on the spine, and dark gray paper over boards, with Eric May designs on the front and back covers, black endpapers.
