Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is a true first edition, published in 1849. Black leather spine is heavily worn with a 1.5" x 1" piece missing from top spine, rubbing and cracking at gutters. Boards are worn with light bumping. The pages ( 90, 167 and 156) are foxed with some water staining and wear and…tanning at edges. The last pages contain advertisements for other texts. These pages are out of order with a couple of pages missing. The two free endpapers in the rear are missing. The text block is tight.
