A whole lot of underlining (all with light pencil) in the second half of the book. First state of first edition point on page 205 (perceived mis-spelled as perceivced). 227 pages. Dust jacket is clean, price clipped, with some creasing to front inside flap; small closed curved tear at base of spine, 1/8" closed tear at base of rear panel, slight wear at top spine edge; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Ironweed received the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and is the third book in Kennedy's Albany Cycle. Black boards quarterbound in a charcoal colored cloth backstrip with shiny silver foil lettering on the spine. Book has a fair amount of bumping at the head and tail of the spine and a wrinkle across the face of the tail of the spine. Very slight bump at the tips of the two lower outside corners. White endpapers. Previous owner has laid a slip into the book at the title page that has been signed by the author in black pen - appears to have been taken from another book - small printed Penguin logo just above the signature. Paper of the laid in signature is cream colored, darker than that of the proper book. Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 227 pages. Dust Jacket - has light rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the tips of the four outside corners. There is a 1/4" chip in the tips of each of the two lower outside corners, and in the tip of the upper rear outside corner. 1/2" closed tear in the lower edge of the front cover about half an inch away from the tail of the spine. Winner of the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Has some wear here and there, but a nice overall appearance. Signed by the Author.
