Prima raccolta e' Poesie del 1836, poi soggiorno' a Milano, in Piemonte, e quindi in Trentino. Quando scoppiarono i moti del 48' venne espulso da Venezia con l'accusa di essere monarchico e fu anche allontanato da…Firenze. Poi ritorno' in Piemonte. Nel 1851 si risposo', venne eletto deputato nel 1862 e nel 1876 senatore. Le sue cose migliori sono senza dubbio i sonetti della raccolta Psiche e le liriche di Iside (1878). Mori' a Roma nel 1884.
