Rappel du titre complet : Lettres de Chevalier de l'Ordre Militaire de Saint-Louis, en faveur de M. Jacques Bermond, ancien officier. Donné à Paris le huitième jour de Novembre l'An de Grâce 1815 [ Signé "Louis", par le Garde des Sceaux Etienne Pasquier et le Maréchal Duc de Feltre, avec le sceau de cire conservé dans son étui ] Beau document signé par Louis XVIII, Etienne Pasquier et le Maréchal Clarke. Duc de Feltre, Clarke était alors Maréchal de France et nouveau Ministre de la Guerre de Louis XVIII. La signature du Garde des Sceaux est celle d'Etienne Pasquier. Quant à Jacques Bermond (1768-1851), cet ancien officier et négociant en bois était un chef royaliste montpelliérain. Lors de la cérémonie de remise de l'ordre, le candidat devait jurait de vivre et mourir dans la religion catholique et de rester fidèle au roi, de défendre ses droits et ceux de la Couronne, conformément à l'éthique chevaleresque médiévale et "de se comporter en tout comme bon, sage, vertueux et vaillant chevalier". Intéressant exemplaire, décerné en novembre 1815 dans les premiers temps de la Seconde Restauration (Pasquier est ministre de la justice jusqu'en septembre), et bien complet de son sceau (petit trou au diplôme et pliures, éclat de cire sans manque dans le sceau).
