Condition: Good. Reprinted. 284 pages. Illustrated dust jacket over red cloth covered boards. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Presentation plate to front paste-down. Minor pencil marking to front free end-paper. End-papers are more notably tanned. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped jacket has moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creasing.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. Gordon Browne (illustrator). Red boards with black titles and borders to front and spine. Spine is faded at top where d/w is missing. Some light edge wear. D/w has loss at top of spine and a tear down from this which is taped inside, chips out at bottom of spine and corners and general edge wear. Inside, light foxing in places but generally clean and tight.

Undated reprint - prize inscription dated 1940 on front free end paper; page fore-edge lightly foxed; binding tight; red cloth a little faded on spine, with speckly loss of colour at edge of front board.
