Photography. Condition: Very good condition. Four silvertone photographs with 2 photos signed and titled on verso by HW Ponder intended for inclusion in the book "Java Pageant". W Ponder wrote her own travel books for Java after falling in love with the place and people. These are original photographs later published in 1934, by Seeley Service. 1. Ryok dancers in a bride groom's procession. Plaosan. (silvertone, 4 1/8 x 6 3/8") 2. Remains of a brick temple at Madjapahit, the former great Hindu capital in East Java. (4 1/8 x 5 7/8") 3. A firewood seller and a Javanese housewife. (2 5/8 x 4 1/2") 4. A country scene in East Java (verso has partial postcard printing) (5 3/8 x 2 1/2").
