Photograph
No binding. Condition: Fine. Los Angeles: Warner Brothers Pictures / Dell Publishing, 1942. Vintage original 8 x 10" (20 x 25 cm) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin photo. Ink stamp for photographer Bob Beerman for Modern Screen magazine as well as Dell publishing date stamp of Aug 13, 1942 on verso. Fine. In this behind-the-scenes photograph are Bette Davis working out a scene with director John Huston, with Frank Craven at center. This is the one film in Davis' illustrious career which she could not watch after its premiere. She disliked the unsympathetic character and felt that the censorship of the time ruined Ellen Glasgow's novel.
