No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Very Good. 3 page manuscript letter signed, no place (Address or letterhead area, 1 x 2 inch rectangle, has been cut from top center of first page of letter), 1900. Sir John Hare, (1844-1921) was one of the leading British actors and theater managers of his day and was also popular in America. In this letter to a friend, he apologizes that his friend's letter has not been properly forwarded to him in America. He also writes that "I have been the recipient of so much kindness from Americans during my visits to America.". Signed by Author(s).

Condition: VG. London 1895. Sm.8vo., 202pp. Interesting association, copy of Gilbert Farquhar, his name and address signed on the front in pen. Farquhar was an actor who appeared in 'La Tosca' with Hare (see p. 127 of this book, and a small note tipped onto the the table of contents page). This copy has an autograph signed letter to Farquhar from Hare pasted inside the front board, as well as two other autograph signed letters from Hare tipped in (one on Garrick Club stationary). Also, two autograph signed letters to Farquhar from Edmund Routledge, one pasted inside the rear board and one tipped onto the rear free flyleaf. There is a signed and dated inscription to Farquhar from Routledge on the half-title. Two other autogrpah signed letters concerning 'La Tosca' from persons unknown (signatures difficult to read) are also tipped in. VG, some light wear.
