1st UK edition. 133, [3 (blank)], 32 pp. Text in verse. Last 32 pages an April 1871 publisher catalogue. 12mo. "Mr. Jerningham also kept a diary; and extracts therefrom are given in the following pages. As they refer to the relations between husband and wife, their mutual action and re-action upon each other, it is believed they will be of interest to the general public -- especially to all who have entered into, or are about to enter into, the holy state of matrimony." Mrs. Jerningham's Journal, published the year prior, is attributed to Fanny Wheeler Hart. A bit cocked. Average wear. Rear hinge just starting. Overall, Very Good. Original publisher's green cloth binding with brown eps. Gilt stamped lettering to front board.
