The dust jacket is edge worn along the top edge and head of the spine, there is a cip off the top edge of the back and a portion missing fromt the head of the spine and there is a short tear on the front top edge. There is light soiling and the spine is slightly darkened. We placed the dust jacket in a high quality Demco protector to preserve it from further wear, tear and soiling. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Almost single handedly, John Ware carved the Southern Alberta LEGEND about riding tough horses to a standstill. He became famous from Brooks to the Porcupine Hills as a MOST reliable ranch-hand. John Ware died in 1905, in an ironic twist of fate, after being thrown from a quiet horse. 261 pages, including INDEX, with three B/W photos: 2 of John's cabin and one of the Ware Family, as frontispiece. Cond: Cream coloured wrapper with black lettering. Graphic of John on cover. End-papers are white. Volume is brilliantly tight, bright, and clean. Very slight wear at edges and corners . Spine fine and square. Neither marks nor folds. Minimal soiling. Decidedly giftable ! ! Collectible ! !
