Date on the title page is 1952. 375 pages. In good condition. The binding is strong. The corners are bumped and frayed. The covers are toned and rubbed, with a faint stain on the front cover that looks like perhaps a coffee cup ring. Endpapers are toned around the edges, as are (to a lesser degree) the pages inside. On front attached endpaper the previous owner signed his name, and on the front free endpaper the author's signature reads, "Paul Harper - very best wishes; Gore Vidal April 1952."
