Pictorial Hard Cover. Condition: Poor. New Edition. Ex-library. The cover has red cloth. The endpapers have a wooden shoe and duck design. Twelve chapters. The illustrations range from quarter page, black, red, and white illustrations to full page, bright, all color illustrations. The main character is a Dutch boy. The margins have a scallop decoration. The original spine strip has been replaced with red, cloth tape. The text block is rejoined to the boards with cloth, hinge tape. About a third of the boards' edges are threadbare. The illustration on the front cover has darkened from shelf wear soiling and has rubbed spots and stains. A few of the pages' front margins have light, fingerprint soiling. The illustrations range from quarter page, black, red, and white illustrations to full page, bright, all color illustrations. The main characters are a Dutch boy and his duck. The margins have a scallop decoration. The top and bottom edges of the spine strip are wrinkled and a little faded. The front free endpaper has an owner's name in childish scrawl; one letter is smeared. An overflow of binder's glue caused the bottom edge of the front endpaper to stick together, causing an intermittent, white line along half of the edge. DJ: Price clipped. It is split apart on one fold. The other folds are rubbed thin. The bottom 3 in. of the spine panel is missing. Eight chips are up to a linear 1 1/4 in. Sixteen closed tears are 1/4 in. to 1 1/2 in.
