Von erhöhtem Betrachterstandpunkt aus geht der Blick durch hohe Kiefern in ein Flußtal. Tuschezeichnung von Karl Benninger, um 1970, 39,5 x 29,8 cm (ganzes Blatt). - Leicht gebräunt, kleiner Riss (ca. 2 cm) am unteren Blattrand. - Dr. Karl Benninger (Lauda 1924 - 1990 Würzburg) studierte trotz nahezu vollständiger Erblindung während des 2. Weltkriegs (auf einem Auge hatte er nur noch 10% Sehkraft) Malerei bei Prof. Graevenitz an der Solitude Stuttgart sowie Kunst- und Vorgeschichte. Ab 1954 war er in Würzburg ansässig und begann ein Privatstudium bei Josef Versl. Sein Werk gibt die Auseinandersetzung mit impressionistischen Malern sowie Edvard Munch, Oskar Kokoschka und Wilhelm Nay wieder. Das uvre Benningers umfasst Landschaftsdarstellungen, bevorzugt aus seiner Heimat Unterfranken, Stillleben, Portraits sowie abstrakte Kompositionen im Stil der "informellen Malerei".
