In 1972ñ73, at the age of 34 and emerging from his involvement with Provoke, Daido Moriyama published five issues of a personal photography magazine, Kiroku (Record). (Published in editions of 300 copies, the original issues are now very scarce and ferociously expensive.) Thirty-four years later, in 2006, he revived the magazine, with Akio Nagasawa on board as publisher, and issues appearing two or three times a year. Every new issue is an event, and Moriyama shows no sign of slowing down; the latest issue (as of this writing), number 52, came out in September 2022. The issues in the new series are published in editions of 1000, and the earliest of those have begun to go out of print.
