Paperback. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. 8vo. Pp. xiii, 96. Bound in illustrated stiff wraps. Lower corner slightly bumped, else Fine. Inscribed by Swenson on the half-title page. In addition, Swenson used personal note paper to write an additional note to Kizer. That is laid-in. The inscription to Kizer quotes from Kizer…'s poem Night Sounds, whereas Swenson slightly misquotes from Kizer's Singing Aloud in the note. In both Swenson offers fulsome admiration of Kizer's poetry. A choice association of the two poets. This is one of the titles featured in The National Poerty Series chosen by Maxine Kumin. Now protected with a clear, removable archival jacket.
