Inscribed & signed by Thomas Harkness Litster on the front endpaper, "To Miss M. Bowles with the author's best wishes T.H. Litster 1927". Additionally laid in is a Typed Poem Signed by Litster, dated 1928, "Each Flower Has a Way of Her Own", "My Pansies look up at the Roses / The Roses look down on the Stocks, / The Stocks want to flirt with the Daisies / Who's rather be close to the Phlox."
