"The U.S. Senate is now holding hearings on the question of our nation's role in the Laos civil war. At the request of Prince Souvanna Phouma, American planes have been bombing communist positions and communication lines in the country." This informational poster map was created and produced by the Civic Education Service for Scholastic Magazines, Inc. and published by the latter in Washington, D.C. in 1969. It was issued as Volume 7 Number 5 of the CES Headline-Focus Wall Map Series and designed to educate an American audience about the ongoing civil conflict in Laos during the Vietnam War. The vibrant image shows Laos situated between Vietnam, Communist China, Cambodia, Burma, and Thailand - a "victim of its own geography", according to the descriptive text in the upper right. Information about the country's area, population, government, living standards, and history is provided in the lower left." Condition A- Condition Description Creasing and light to moderate wear along the old fold lines and outer edges of the sheet. Very good overall.
