Add to basketfolder. Condition: Good to Very Good. One of the last pre-stamp letter /Envelope dated March 14th 1840 from London to Thomas Hearne of Buckingham. Long 3 page letter. The first postage stamp was issued in the United Kingdom on 1 May 1840, but was not valid for use until 6 May. We are unable to decipher the hand writing, as would need more time than we have spare to keep reading it until we are able to get used to it, also unable to decipher the writers name either. Pre paid letter. See all scans. Condition Good to very good, writing hard to decipher, with most of wax seal.size closed 7.5 x 12cm. Open size per page 22.5 x 18.5cm.
