Soft cover. Condition: Good. Color pictorial paper wrappers, string-tied. 16mo (4 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches). 7pp. Illustrated with 3 color plates. An early chapbook variant of "Slovenly Peter" about a very lazy boy whose mother asks him to go uptown to buy some buttons. Instead of going on the errand himself he unscrews his legs and other parts of his body and sends them in his place. Various complications ensue and Peter vows never to be lazy again, having been caught by his parents with only half his limbs. The color plates show Peter's legs being bitten by a dog, falling into a stream and running home. A good copy only with some soiling and wear to the covers, a short tear to the right side of the front cover and some splitting to the spine. The text is lightly worn but in good shape.
