Hardcover. Condition: Near fine. Limited Edition. Number 8 of 125 copies, octavo size, 94 pp., signed by author. Grace Paley (1922-2007), an author of both prose and poetry, has been called "a seminal American writer". She described herself as a "combative pacifist and a cooperative anarchist" and had always been active in anti-war and feminist causes; her poetry, more than her prose, often reflects her political feelings. The Poetry Foundation says of her poems that they "display the verve and innuendo that energize her fiction". This the first, limited and signed collection in an edition of 125 copies of her poems first published between 1973 and 1985. ___DESCRIPTION: Bound in colourful hand-painted paste paper over boards, white label with black lettering on the shelfback, the volume contains approximately 60 of her poems; printed at the Granite Press in Maine, octavo size (8.5" by 6"), pagination: [1]-90, list of books by Grace Paley [91], blank [92], author bio [93], colophon [94], first and limited edition, this number 8 of 125, signed by poet Grace Paley. ___CONDITION: Volume could almost be deemed fine, the binding is clean with beautiful vivid boards, the text block is strong and square with solid hinges, all pages are clean and bright, and the volume is free of prior owner markings; the head and tail of the spine, and the corners, have the slightest amount of wear and there is a single, small white spot on the front board, else fine. ___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard does not always cover costs; please inquire for details. ___Swan's Fine Books is pleased to be a member of the ABAA, ILAB, and IOBA and we stand behind every book we sell. Please contact us with any questions you may have, we are here to help.
