Condition: Good. 1955. First Edition. 252 pages. No dust jacket. Signed by the author. Red cloth covered boards with gilt. Black and white and colour photographs. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some moderate sunning and tanning. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled.

Armand Denis (illustrator). 1st Edition. 1955 first edition hardback, signed by author Michaela Denis to first blank page and with unclipped dustjacket. A warmth and genuine love of wildlife and locals emanates from the photos, many of which were taken from trees "in which we often spend the night to take advantage of the first daylight hours" and includes one extraordinary picture of Mr and Mrs Denis literally being carried across a river by locals. Interior has small owner's pencil inscription otherwise clean interior with all pages tight in binding, covers clean and unscuffed. Dustjacket still in one piece but has small chinks missing at spine extremities and corners. Signed by Author(s).

Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Mild sunning to spine, which has mild crushing and wear to ends. Book has forward lean. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Moderate foxing. Notable rubbing and marking all over.
