Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First US Edition. BP5 - A first US edition hardcover book SIGNED by Jo Nesbo on the title page in very good condition in very good dust jacket. Dust jacket has wrinkling, chipping and crease on the edges and corners, scattered light smudges, rubbing, scratches and scuffing, light discoloration and shelf wear. Book has some bumped corners and dents, wrinkling on the spine edges, light discoloration and shelf wear. Translated from the Norwegian by Don Bartlett. Rutlessly intelligent and suspenseful, The Leopard is Jo Nesbø 's most electrifying novel yet - absolutely gripping from first to last. 9.5"x6.5", 517 pages. Satisfaction Guaranteed. Two young women are found murdered in Oslo, both drowned in their own blood. Media coverage quickly reaches fever pitch: Could this be the world of a serial killer? The crime scenes offer no coherent clues, the police investigation is stalled, and the one man who might be able to help doesn't want to be found. Traumatized by his last case, Inspector Harry Hole has lost himself in the squalor of Hong Kong's opium dens. Yet when he is compelled, at last, to return to Norway - his father is dying - Harry's buried instincts begin to take over. After a female MP is discovered brutally murdered, nothing can keep him from the investigation. There is little to go on: a piece of rope, a scrap of wool, a bit of gravel, an unexpected connection between the victims. And Harry will soon come to understand that he is dealing with a psychopath for whom "insanity is a vital retreat," someone who will put him to the test - in both his professional and personal lives - as never before. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Signed by Author.

Soft cover. Condition: New. Edward James Jim Corbett was a British hunter, turned conservationist, author and naturalist, famous for hunting a large number of man-eaters in India. Corbett held the rank of colonel in the British Indian Army and was frequently called upon by the government of the United Provinces, now the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, to kill man-eating tigers and leopards that were harassing people in the nearby villages of the Garhwal and Kumaon region. His hunting successes earned him a long-held respect and fame amongst the people residing in the villages of Kumaon. Some even claim that he was considered to be a sadhu (saint) by the locals. Corbett was an avid photographer and after his retirement, authored the Man-Eaters of Kumaon, Jungle Lore, and other books recounting his hunts and experiences, which enjoyed much critical acclaim and commercial success. Later on in life, Corbett spoke out for the need to protect India s wildlife from extermination and played a key role in creating a national reserve for the endangered Bengal tiger by using his influence to persuade the provincial government to establish it. The national park was renamed Jim Corbett National Park in his honour in 1957 after his death in 1955. Signed by Author(s).
