No Binding. Condition: Poor. In Old Russian / Church Slavonic script. A letter of one leaf. 22 x 17 cm. Written on both sides. The name of the writer appears at the bottom of the letter. It might be Daniil Babushkin OR Davyid Balguzin "Давыд Балгузин" [Address (Outer Fold of Letter):] To Mister Spiridon Dekh [OR PERHAPS: Amplido…n Depu] On behalf of the Radziwiłł Family Notes: "Господину" = "To Mister" or "Esteemed Sir" "Спиридону Деху" is a personal name: Spiridon Dekh (possibly a steward or officer) "отъ Радзивилловъ" refers to the Radziwiłł family, a powerful noble house in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth [A very rough translation of the letter and address:] Monday, January 7, 1769 My dear brother, I write to inform you that ten kopecks in silver have been paid here. I wonder whether the merchant we mentioned will arrive; it has already been three days, and there is no sign of him. I begin to doubt. There was a letter from Mr. Lewandowski regarding the wheat cargo, which has already been dispatched to Dvinsk. I have signed here confirming its receipt as of today's date.
