I highly significant historical Asscoiatio Copy, explicitly hand-numbered by the author at the top of the front flyleaf: "First Edition No 2." Beneath this designation is a poignant, full page handwritten presentation inscription from the author, Joe Mitchell Chapple, dated "July 7/1924" from "Boston". The inscription is dedicated to a crucial figure in the late President's inner circle: "For my friend and Warren G. Harding's close friend, Mr. E.R. Grabow, who gave him that first & happiest memory of the days as President-Elect-the trip to Panama & Jamaica, this second book of 1st edition is presented by the author with affectionate regards of his friend. Faithfully, Joe Mitchell Chapple." The recipient, Edward R. Grabow, was the General Manager of the Passenger Department for the United Fruit Company Line. Immediately following his 1920 election victory, President-elect Warren G. Harding took a celebrated vacation and diplomatic crusie to Panama and Jamaica. Grabow personally managed the fleet arrangements an hosted the Presidnet elect during this historic journey. As the explicitly stated second copy off the press reserved by the biographer specifically for the man who orchestrated Harding's favorite presidential memory, this is a one of a kind artifact of 1920's presidential history and Americana.
