Decorative Boards. Condition: Poor. First Edition. The surface of the spine is missing other than a small piece at the bottom with the front and rear panels a little slack but reasonably well attached. The gilt decoration on the front panel is a little worn but fairly bright and there are a few stains to the front and rear panels with rubbing to the corners. The webbing is exposed at the front and rear of the book. No front free endpaper with a previous owner's name to the half-title page. Browning to the page edges. Browning to the pages with a small dark mark at the top of the title page and a stain to the final page. The plates are also quite heavily browned around the edges as is the tissue paper covering them but the text is generally unmarked. First printing.
