Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Illustrated by James Montgomery Flagg (illustrator). Reprint 4th Printing (stated). (decorated cloth; no dust jacket) [good sound copy with modest external wear, age-toning to edges of text block, minor fraying at spine ends, bookplate on front pastedown (see Notes)]. (color frontispiece + 2 color plates) SIGNED by the author (no inscription) on the front endpaper. Historical romance starring Patrick Henry, by the renowned early Western movie star whose writing style was about as stiff as his acting. Not an uncommon book (and he signed a lot, too), but this copy does have a little extra Hollywood provenance (pay attention, it's a little tenuous): the bookplate is of that of "The Walter Seltzers," that being film producer Seltzer and his wife Mickell (known as Mickey), who was the daughter of silent-film actress Jane Novak, who co-starred with Hart in five of his films and was at one time engaged to be married to him. NOTE re "4th printing (stated)": that's what it says on the copyright page, although that's probably a holdover from the original publisher's plates (Thomas Y. Crowell Co.), since this G&D issue certainly post-dated those printings. Signed by Author.
