As was common this had been bound without the exterior cover or end-page adverts but contains all the copy. About 32 pages, all on glossy paper. Well illustrated. In the title line are firstly details of the front page picture, followed by the main article in their Country Homes series, & then by other articles of interest. Interior in nice clean condition, Inside edge maybe rough where disbound but all pages are complete & still well bound together.…

Undated, the British Library date this book to 1935, the date confirmed with a Signed presentation inscription from the author dated 1935, this is the First Edition of this scarce book being a History of Lilleshall Abbey in Shropshire, running to 68 pages with illustrations and a folding plan. This example has been crudely bound in full leather with brown leather covers and red leather spine. The binding may well have been done by the author as his inscription is on the front pastedown which is part of the original binding CONDITION Leather binding rubbed but otherwise in solid condition, internally contents in good general condition, rear inner hinge is strengthened with tape which is just touching the numbers on the inner edge of last index page, else in acceptable condition. Published in Wellington Shropshire in 1862, this is the scarce First Edition of this Guide to the Wrekin Hill, and its surroundings, handsomely bound in a recent quarter leather binding titled in gilt to the spine, internally runs to 24 pages, illustrated with a folding map, and a folding toposcope panorama chart of what can be seen on the horizon from the top of the Wrekin. The binding is in excellent condition, both the map and panorama have had professional strengthening to edges, with some edge loss, the title page has also been heavily strengthened with some corner loss, some corner wear to pages within, and small area of loss to top of rear index (see pictures) with some occasional mild marking else in acceptable condition for this fragile survival. The First Edition of this little Wellington printed guide book is very scarce in any condition.…
