No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Original lithograph by Georges Rohner. 51 x 73 cm, in very good condition. Georges Rohner was born on July 20, 1913 in Paris. His uncle Georges Stugocki, a drawing teacher, gave him a taste for art very early on and thus developed his passion. In 1929, he left high school to go to the "galleries…" of the School of Fine Arts in Paris where he was received. A year later, he will be admitted as a student at the Lucien Simon workshop along with Robert Humblot, Jacques Despierre, Paul Girol, Henri Jannot, Jean Lasne and Colette Beleys. Under the impetus of the critic Henri Hérault, he joined forces with Robert Humblot, Jannot, Lasne, the Canadian Alfred Pellant, Pierre Tal-Coat and Raymond Moisset to found the Forces nouvelles movement which advocated a return to drawing, a return to the profession conscientious of tradition in a fervent contact with nature. Various artists, writers, and institutions paid tribute to his work and his talent by publishing books, short films, acquiring paintings and drawings. During his career, Rohner presented his works throughout the world in about a hundred exhibitions organized by galleries, museums, and Salons such as the Venice Biennale, the Salon des Indépendants, the Galerie de Paris, the Musée d modern art in the city of Paris, the Wildenstein & Co gallery in New York, the fine arts museum in Orléans, the Espace Cardin in Paris, the Louvre museum. The Framond gallery exhibits his works in Paris during retrospectives and themes.
