When a MIMC simulation framework capable of establishing a symmetric (i.e., bidirectional) link in a WMN was developed by adapting the OLSR protocol, the aforementioned load balancing algorithms were then implemented in a multi-hop MI WMN, and the performances (throughput, end-to-end delay, PER) of all load balancing modes (with two interfaces) were compared to those of the three-interface round-robin WMN and the multi-hop single-interface (SI) WMN. Load balancing algorithms in a multi-channel WMN enhance the route between all traffic and improve the capacity of links over the mesh networks.
