Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Near fine feature article USS Augusta 1935 Cruise - A Philatelic Travelogue. Also included in this item is the tragic story of the USS Mount Hood lead ship of her class of ammunition ships in our navy. Fully loaded 7800 tons of ammunition and set sail to the Pacific War. She was anchored in seeadler harbor, admiralty Islands, when she blew up with 3800-4500 tons of explosives. All 350 officers and men on board were vaporized. Nothing was salvaged except fragments hitting other ships close by. This tragic true account along with many black and white photos of the devastation.

Plus helpful suggestions for tuning short-wave radio sets. Of particular interest are the one page bios of current radio stars ie. Gracie Allen, George Burns, Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Cantor, Ruth Etting, Frances Langford, Bing Crosby, Vincent Lopez, Ozzie Nelson, Kate Smith, Rudy Vallee.

This is an oblong map and trip log for flyers on TWA during the 1930's not dated but appears to be from then all the planes pictured are bright aluminum twin engine propeller craft. This is a 22 page staple bound booklet with each page a different route and the route map on one side and the description on the other side of the page. Minor wear. great fun.

Softcover, bound in stapled yellow decorated white wraps, titled in black with a black & white illustration titled "In Ole Lunnon Town" by Ray Belmont Whitman pictured on the front cover. The edges of the covers are slightly soiled and creased. 62 & [2] pages, with black & white textual and full-page illustrations. A few page corners are creased. Very good. This issue includes an essay on "Modern Iceland" by H.B. MacDonald, a poem titled "A Poet's Muse About His Cruise" by Ray Belmont Whitman which is described as "a true account, lightly told, of a yachting cruise this last summer.". An article titled "Bigleow, at 80, is Felicitated by Wilhelm II", which notes how the former Kaiser sent a bust of himself to Bigelow as a token of esteem.Of particular note is the journalist & author Poultney Bigelow's playful 1-page essay "What a Little Canoe Can Do For You" and Colonel H.
