Also included in this item is the tragic story of the USS Mount Hood lead ship of her class of ammunition ships in our navy. Fully loaded 7800 tons of ammunition and set sail to the Pacific War. She was anchored in seeadler harbor, admiralty Islands, when she blew up with 3800-4500 tons of explosives. All 350 officers and men on board were vaporized. Nothing was salvaged except fragments hitting other ships close by. This tragic true account along with many black and white photos of the devastation.
