Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Muirhead Bone (illustrator). 3rd impression (1948, first published in September of 1948), INSCRIBED by the author on the dedication page, small 4to, blue cloth, 173 pages, 24 b/w illustrations by Sir Muirhead Bone (the author's brother). Inscription reads: "And to my good friend [ ? indecipherable ] of Fleet Street, the Step-Father of Fleet Street / James Bone, 1951." Condition is VERY GOOD book / FAIR jacket: book has some mild-toning to blue cloth at edges, light foxing stains to front and rear endpapers and a few scattered spots that do not affect reading pleasure or the illustrations, owner bookplate on front paste-down; jacket is edgeworn, almost half the spine has gone missing, front separated from spine, sticker remains on top front, all held together nicely in protective mylar. An obituary of Bone has been laid in (The London Times, 24 Nov 1962). Covers all manner of London life during the first part of the 20th-century, following in the author's first such book 'The London Perambulator' (1925). Inscribed by Author(s).
