First edition, rolled sheet 97 x 131 cm, verso contains 3 aerial views of the islands of Bahrein (Bahrain), Cyprus and Rhodes (scale 1:97,500) alongside 10 smaller sectional views capturing features of their coastlines). Light damp stain in upper margin un-affecting the map image. In very good condition for a confidential chart.… The first, advanced edition, issued for use by the U.S. Army Air Force during the Second World War. Encompassing the whole of the Persian Gulf and part of the Arabian Peninsula, the chart covers a large geographical area: west past the Suez Canal in Egypt; north as far as the Iranian/USSR border on the Caspian Sea; east beyond the Iranian/Afghanistan border and south around the northern part of Oman. Marked "Restricted" for the use of U.S. officers, the chart was produced 'for use in daylight', with the warning that, due to wartime conditions 'lights, radio facilities, and other aids to navigation may be changed or discontinued without notice.' Apparently unrecorded. Unlisted in Libraryhub or on OCLC. A 2nd edition version is held as part of the Priestman archive in the University of New Brunswick.
