Each has a written statement by Kyne on the versos of the ffep, about this being a special set of his works to date, of which there were 15 sets signed, and that this set is no. 8, for William Johnston (Contemporaneous American writer) and his wife Hattie Belle. Each is also inscribed to the Johnstons on the second blank, each with a different and personal message. All dated 1924. Condition of the books is VERY GOOD+ ; the leather is supple with no wear to the joints. Spines have sunned uniformly to a brownish shade. Covers extremely clean with no wear to the edges or bumping. It appears that the land was held in trust by Pennington and complications arose after his death, between the many heirs and descendants. Includes a copy of a deed, dated November 1823, signed by William Sandford Pennington, "Copy of an act vesting certain lands to me Wm. S. Pennington". Document is signed and certified, dated December 8, 1823, by Daniel Coleman, Secretary of the State of New Jersey. [May 28, 1818] Indenture naming the original owners of the land (all deceased), descendants of John Budd Esq. and his wife, Sarah, who married John Scott after her husband's death, her son, John Budd Scott and John Dennis transferred the title to William S. Pennington on trust. Certified and signed by Abraham Reynolds, judge of the court of common plea, dated June 16 ,1818. Also signed by James Vanderpool, commissioner, dated June 20, 1818, stating that Sarah Ball, John and Susan Plume, Joseph and Lydia Baldwin, and Richard and Lydia Donaldson appeared before him. Docketing to verso dated June 14, 1841, signed by David B. Hurd, Morris County court clerk. [September 13, 1838] Deed of Conveyance (Trust). In three parts between James A.
