Hall was a longtime professor of English at Shorter College, Rome, Georgia. ; Dr. Thelma R. Hall and her husband Dr. Wilson Hall came to Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, in 1964. Thelma Hall w…as Professor of English and Chair of the Division of Humanities at Shorter at the time of her death on April 5, 2002. Her career at Shorter lasted almost forty years. Dr. Hall earned her B.A. and M.A. in English from Auburn University and her Ph.D. in English from the University of Alabama. A previous book of poetry, Sunlight and Stones, received the 1999 Benjamin Franklin Award for Poetry/Literary Criticism, given by the Publishers Marketing Association. Dr. Hall also had seventy-five poems published in various literary journals and other sources, including the following: The New Laurel Review, Poem, The Chattahoochee Review, Number One, The Reach of Song (yearbook of the Georgia Poetry Society), and many others. The Northern Wei Dynasty, also known as the Tuoba Wei, Later Wei, or Yuan Wei, was a dynasty which ruled Chin…a from 386 to 534. It has been described as 'part of an era of political turbulence and intense social and cultural change'. It is perhaps most noted for the unification of northern China in 439, but was also a period when foreign ideas were introduced, and Buddhism became firmly established. Many antiques and art works, both Daoist and Buddhist, from this period have survived. During the Taihe period under the Emperor Xiaowen, court advisers instituted sweeping reforms and introduced changes that eventually led in 494 AD to the dynasty moving its capital from Datong to Luoyang.
