Paperback. Condition: Rough. No Jacket. Campbell, Elanor (illustrator). This early edition has rather rough covers, but interior is quite good. Red "cloth tape" spine over thick red paper covers. Stapled binding, interior hinges are 'reinforced' using tape. This has caused some discoloration of the gutters. Covers are rubbed, worn with some creased corners. Front bottom corner has a small chip. Back cover was cut from top to bottom near center, this was also repaired with tape. Faint scribble mark inside front cover and on title page. Textblock edges have yellowed slightly with age, but clean and tight in binding. Illustrations remain sharp, colors bright. Scribble mark inside back cover. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First printingthe number lines in the gutter of page 48 begin with '1' and end with '46'--of the '1946-47 Edition'. A Near Fine 8vo soft cover textbook with Dick, Jane, Baby, Spot, Puff, and Tim. Saddle-stapled with covering brown cloth tape on the spine and white cloth tape in the book's center hinge making this copy very securely bound. The 48-page contents are clean and the illustrations bright. The pictured red card covers are free of tears, chips, and heavy creases, but near the bottom edge in the front there is a label-size area with a faint whitish mark and upon close inspection some fine blotter-like impression lines. The rear cover has a few whitish specks. Both cover imperfections are minimal as attested to by the attached pictures. No ex-school or ex-library markings.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Publication date is not listed, but presumed c. early 1950s, oversized hardcover (19.5" x 25.25") with fold-out stands on both covers that are secured with snaps, and is bound with three rings. The book is heavily worn, especially at the tail of the spine, and has fraying, splitting and losses to the cloth at the spine ends, hinges, cover edges and corners that exposes the boards, leaving them vulnerable to delamination, which has started in several places. There is also bowing to the covers, rubbing with smudging across the exterior, toning to the pages with use smudges or brief childish marks to some, and offsetting to the first and last pages at the fore corners. Overall, this is a solid, but Fair/As Is only copy, and additional images are available by request.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Thus. Fabulous vintage Dick and Jane - an oversized folio measuring approximately 19 x 24-1/2", still in original presentation covers with attached board-stands. Three ring internal binder (as issued) with each large folio of four pictures bound together with reinforced (again, as issued) leatherette spines. Contains all 6 "stories" (a total of 24 large pictures) from the We Look and See, the beginning pre-Primer. It would appear that pages 1 and 2 - likely introduction notes, are missing - but ALL THE MARVELLOUS 1950s pages are there. And glorious they are! Clean, bright and fresh, each page has no marks whatsoever - perhaps a touch of age toning and faint signs of handling along outer page edges, otherwise truly fine. The leatherette binder/presentation folder is still in reasonable condition and has the original paste-down label on front. Spines are beginning to crack and the corners are a little bumped, but otherwise astonishingly fine.
