From Abbe Prevost's "Histoire Generale des Voygaes" (?), published 1767. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jakob van der Schley' after an anonymous artist. Jakob van der Schley (1715-1779) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver. He studied under Bernard Picart, whose style he subsequently copied.Condition: Excellent, given age. Right margin cropped to the platemark, lower margin cropped close to the platemark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
