Signed by each of the playwrites / authors. Four volumes. Each of the four volumes is printed on Kelmscott handmade paper, and is bound in vellum-backed patterned boards. The British Drama League was established in 1919 to promote amateur and professional theatre in England. It was founded by Geoffrey Whitworth, and led to the creation of the National Theatre, among other projects. These titles were the first four books in the League's "Library of Modern British Drama." The books are in Very Good condition. The vellum spines have darkened; otherwise each volume is clean and tight, with most pages unopened. They are housed in a solander-style chemise (that is mostly broken) and a quarter morocco & cloth slip case. Literature, British Theatre, Theater, Drama.
