This small-sized hard cover book (6 ½ x 8 ¼ inches, 148 pages) was published by The Medici Society of London and Boston, dated 1925 and the Third Printing. The book is bound in finely ribbed, dark blue cloth with embossed gilt titles on cover and spine. The book is lavishly illustrated with sepia-toned photographs, probably one or more on every page. The endpapers are decorated with a rough map of the lake district. Condition: This one-hundred-year-old book was well-made and shows it. The hard covers are clean and bright with bright gilt titles and some minor edge wear and bumping to the corners and spine tips. There is foxing to the endpapers and to the first and last pages but not within the interior pages and plates. There are however a few pages with some minor soiling but nothing extreme. Both hinges are intact and solid, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
