MALAGA by J. D. Harding. Dibujo original a lápiz de grafito sobre papel de acuarela de alto gramaje, 16,5 x 24 cm., hacia 1830-184. (Se trata de una interpretación magistral de la célebre vista de George Vivian publicada en 'Spanish Scenery' el año 1838. Destaca el tratamiento técnico de las embarcaciones en primer plano, con un nivel de detalle en el velamen y cordaje que es marca distintiva de las lecciones de dibujo de J.D. Harding. A diferencia de la litografía original de Vivian cuyas medidas son 25,5 x 37,5 cm), este dibujo presenta una escala reducida (16,5 x 24 cm). Al no ser un calco directo, revela una ejecución manual de alta precisión y un control absoluto de la perspectiva, propio de un artista profesional o un maestro de academia que sintetiza la imagen origina. El reverso del papel de acuarela conserva una nota manuscrita de época a lápiz: 'Malaga by J. D. Harding', lo que proporciona una procedencia histórica sólida y vincula la pieza directamente con el entorno del gran pedagogo del dibujo británico James Duffield Harding). Libros.
