Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and a little on hinges. Book has slight forward tilt. A little slackness to binding but book contents reasonably firm. Page edges browned, scuffed and a little foxed. Lower edges deckled, opened and reasonably neatly cut, though not trimmed. A little marking to endpapers, otherwise page surfaces very clean apart from the odd mark, with no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information. 239+ pp. n.

His conquest of the Crimea, followed by the retreat to the Dniester, and his trial four years after the war ended are fully described. The author was Manstein's Counsel for Defence.
