Manuscript document signed by John Chisum, a deposition attesting to his service as a surveyor in Texas in the 1830s, particularly noting surveys done for John Roland and stating "There was a family murdered by the Indians in the year 1838 . and I went there and helped take the bodies up and I recollect of seeing a cabin within sight which was called the Roland Cabin."
