XXIII) con acquaforte originale dell'artista. Bella dedica autografa dell'autore allo scrittore e critico Giancarlo Vigorelli «in segno di una… lunga fraternità». Rarissima tiratura di testa nel formato in folio con allegata un'acquaforte originale di Giacomo Manzù impressa in soli trenta esemplari contrassegnati da cifre romane. Curata da Leone Piccioni esegeta di Ungaretti e a lui legato da un rapporto di profondissimo affetto -, questa edizione Fògola realizzata su carta filigranata delle cartiere Magnani di Pescia nel settembre 1967 raccoglie le opere poetiche ungarettiane pubblicate a partire dal 1950. Composto da «La Terra Promessa», «Il Taccuino del Vecchio», «Apocalissi», «Proverbio» e dalla quattro lezioni tenute dal poeta alla Columbia University nel maggio 1964 raccolte in «Commento dell'autore alla "Canzone"», «Morte delle stagioni» è un'opera volutamente costruita sulla frammentarietà e che pure, da tale frammentarietà «acquista più spazio, più tempo: meglio, una dimensione porosa, desertica, spaventata, apocalittica, e insieme puramente mentale, dello spazio e del tempo» (così Piero Bigongiari nel saggio "Penultimo Ungaretti" apparso nella rivista «Forum Italicum: A Journal of Italian Studies», Vol. 2, n. 3, settembre 1968). Aperto dall'introduzione di Piccioni «Il nuovo Ungaretti» e accompagnato dalle note e dalle varianti alle poesie curate dallo stesso Piccioni e da Mario Diacono, questa elegante edizione affidata per la parte grafica ad Antonio Brandoni è accompagnata al suo interno da tre disegni originali di Giacomo Manzù, presenti anche nell'emissione con tiratura limitata a duecentocinquanta esemplari numerati a macchina, priva dell'acquaforte qui allegata. in folio, cartonato editoriale con sovracoperta, astuccio muto, 1 c.b. ab initio et in fine, pp. [1] 181 [7] con testo in cornice oro, 6 bifoli f.t. con tav. b.n. dell'artista protetta da velina, 1 c. diversa f.t. con l'acquaforte originale firmata a matita dall'artista.
