Blaues Original-Leinen mit rotgeprägtem Rückentitel, fotoillustrierten Vorsatzpapieren und dem farbig fotoillustrierten Original-Schutzumschlag. Umschlag mit leichten Randknitterfältchen. Umschlagrücken oben mit Knitterfältchen und leichter Ablösung der Laminierung. Umschlagrückseite unten mit stärkeren Knickfalten und sauber unterlegtem Randeinriss. Buchrücken am vorderen Gelenk oben mit kleinem Einriss, wodurch das Innengelenk bei den illustrierten Vorsatzpapieren auch etwas angerissen ist. Buchblock durchs Durchblättern etwas verzogen und die Bindung etwas gelockert. Sonst aber ein sauberes Exemplar. Gegenüber der Ausgabe aus dem Jahre 1982 erweiterte Auflage mit 2571 teils ganzseitigen teils farbigen (375) Photographien von Bert Stern. Ausgabe in deutscher Sprache. Aus dem Amerikanischen übertragen von Reinhard Kaiser.
