Pages are mildly tanned. Notable cracking to gutters. Moderate thumb-marking present. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Mild crushing to spine ends. Moderate warping to front board. Notable mottling to rear board. Book has forward lean.

Frontispiece by R.S. Bross. 108 pp. 1 vols. 12mo. A young boy and his mother chose poverty to escape his gambling, drinking forger of a father. Sofie, a small girl was tricked and forced into the life of a thief. Mat and Sofie met and through various adventures were rescued from their low life by themselves and the help of a kind gentleman and their faith. Original green cloth, blocked in black, spine lettered and additionally decorated in gilt, some soiling and rubbing, some spotting and browning, mostly of endpapers.
