Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. This book attempts to present the application before the theory so students think of the mechanism rather than an equation when approaching machine design. The goal is to present the most efficient & general techniques - whether analytic or graphic - to provide a sound approach for the design of machines. There are seven chapters: Linkages & Motion; Velocity: Acceleration; Cams; Spur Gears; Helical, Worm, & Bevel Gears; and, Drive Trains. Two appendices: A. Vectors; and, B. Dynamics of Linkages, as well as Glossary, Problems and Index. Heavily illustrated with diagrams and B&W photographs. vi + 538pp. Both authors were members of the facility of Newark College of Engineering. Hardcover has blue and yellow cloth boards with white designs & lettering, also black shadow boxes & lettering, but no DJ. Interior is tight, clean and unmarked. Opens as if seldom read.
